At the end of the 1800s, a small brush-binding company was started in Stockholm. It became a successful business; so successful that it still exists today. Every brush is still handmade, by people who are visually impaired. The craftsmen attach each individual bundle of bristles to the base of the brush with their steady hands, just as they used to in the 19th century. All work is carried out manually with stringent quality requirements.

The oak comes from sustainable, managed forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC is dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests. The FSC label ensures that the wood you buy has been grown in well-managed forests, giving you confidence that you are not contributing to global forest destruction. The bristles are natural horsehair. Horses’ hair has to be regularly trimmed, so horsehair is another, unexpected, sustainable resource.
