The napkins are made on ancient wooden hand looms by traditional and highly skilled weavers. Hand weaving is viewed as a way of life, a philosophy, intrinsic to the Baltic culture and their deep affinity with nature. In the Baltics, weavers are seen as Artists or Craft Masters. During the Arts & Crafts movement well before the oppression of 50 years of Sovietisation, weavers formed part of the Latvian Artists’ Society - a Guild of highly skilled craftsmen and women. All items are painstakingly hand woven, so that each is an exclusive, specially created ‘objet d’art’ – a piece of beauty forever.
