This extra large red wine glass has a beautiful bulbous design and a wonderfully solid feel. The glass also has a lovely story (a great talking point at your dinner party!) and is fantastic quality.
Amongst the spectacular mountains of Swaziland, a small group of craftspeople are skilfully making beautiful recycled glass products, through age-old skills and artistry.
Every piece is made by hand from 100% recycled glass. The glassware is extremely high quality, feeling more like crystal! However most of it is sourced from soft drink bottles, gathered from all over Swaziland.
Not only are the people of Swaziland encouraged to collect the bottles, but our supplier works with the local schools to instil in the children a sense of environmental awareness. In exchange for building materials and the sponsorship of the soccer team, the students must participate in roadside clean-up campaigns.
This is one of Biome’s favourite new products as it really exemplifies how recycled can mean stylish and how by carefully selecting suppliers, we can also help other areas and communities in the world.
